Well we were going to wait until Jillian was older to get her ears pierced--but she really, really wanted them! Every morning she was putting her imaginary earrings on and every night she would take them off and lay them by the bed (and I'm serious she was doing this daily)! It was really cute--but Jerad and I felt it was time to get her the real deal! So after we went to lunch today we stopped by the mall and after a signed consent and a few tears later she is the proud owner of a brand new pair of "real" earrings! I thought she would tug at them and try to pull them out--but so far she acts as though it's not big deal. Maybe she is just use to them because she has been wearing the imaginary ones for so long now! Anyhoo--here are some pictures of her newly pierced ears!

Signing the consent
Oh my--one ear down, one to go...
My poor baby...those darn imaginary earrings never made her cry!
Awww, I love her little earrings!
They gave her a sucker and she was all better!
Showing off her little ear lobes!
Too freakin' cute!

Was searching for my GF's blog and came across yours. Loved your description about having your dd's ears pierced. How cute is she? Loved her asking and asking to have them pierced!
ReplyDeleteThis was a perfect age to pierce her ears! You were a smart mommy for doing it now and following not only your mommy intuition, but your dd's wishes as well to have real vs. imaginary earrings :)
Our ped gave me some suggestions for moms having their infant dd's ears pierced as well as for
care of newly pierced ears. Write me an e-mail if your thinking about it and want to do it now or
would like the care for newly pierced ears tips.
